Sunday Service - The Coming Kingdom of the Beatitudes
This Sunday we begin a new series on the Sermon on the Mount, looking at the ways Jesus talks to us in the Beatitudes.
A big thanks goes out to Agatha Friesen, Astrid Peters, Susan Rempel, David Kruse, Elvira Hamm and Henry Dueck for their huge help in putting this service together. Also a big thanks to Janae Dueck for putting together the Children’s Feature for today!

Further Readings
For the next six weeks we are going to be going through the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew in its entirety, so feel free to read ahead. Other interesting reads on the topic that have differing levels of impact on the series to come include Kingdom Ethics by Stassen and Gushee (I have the 1st edition), along with the Mathew Commentaries in the NAC, NICNT and BCBC series. I also want to thank Tina Toews for putting me onto God’s Psychiatry by Charles Allen, whose analysis of the wisdom reading of the Beatitudes helped with the first part of the sermon.
Children’s Feature
For this week’s children’s feature, we try something new. Janae Dueck breaks down the Beatitudes in an audio recording that is simple to understand but also wonderfully alive in its applications. Make sure to check it out!
