Who We Are
MacGregor EMC is a small country church of about 100 regular members. We place a strong value on being welcoming, on community, on quality Bible-based preaching, and on always seeking after Jesus Christ in our lives, in the community and the world around us. We believe in helping others, we believe in always reaching out, and we believe in living a life that spreads Christ's Kingdom of peace and love to our neighbours, whoever they may be. If you wish to find out more about our history, please check out this page on GAMEO. Otherwise, if you want to ask a specific question, you can always feel free to contact us. MacGregor EMC is a longstanding member of the Evangelical Mennonite Conference. If you want to see the statement of faith for both our church and our conference, just click here!
Our Pastor
Russell Doerksen was called to serve as lead pastor of MacGregor EMC in August of 2017. Pastor Russell is originally from the Interlake region of Manitoba, where he grew up on his family’s Turkey Farm. He is a graduate of Providence University College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2007, and of Providence Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity in the Spring of 2013.
Pastor Russell is married to his wife Shannon, an editor by trade, and together, they have two little girls, Noelle and Mary, whom they love very much. In his spare time, Pastor Russell cares deeply about building up the community of MacGregor by volunteering with the MacGregor Chamber of Commerce, where he is currently serving his second term as President. He is also a current General Board member of the EMC Conference and a former North Norfolk Childcare Centre board member.
If you want to find out more about Pastor Russell's beliefs and thoughts on matters, why not check out a couple of sermons? Also, he wants you to know you can always feel free to contact him by clicking here. He would love to hear from you!
